Kenpack Limited: Forestry Management

Kenpack Limited integrates sustainable forestry management into its operations by planting 2,000 tree seedlings annually, focusing on indigenous species to restore degraded lands and enhance biodiversity. This initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and supports Kenya’s broader reforestation efforts. By maintaining a community-based partnership in renewable resources, Kenpack ensures that its forestry practices contribute to both ecological balance and local community development.

In addition to tree planting, Kenpack employs heat treatment processes for its wooden pallets, adhering to international phytosanitary standards by treating wood at 56 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. This method reduces the need for chemical treatments, promoting eco-friendly practices within the industry. Furthermore, the company is progressively integrating renewable energy sources into its production processes, currently sourcing 32.5% of its energy from renewables, with a strategic plan to achieve 100% renewable energy usage within the next decade. These combined efforts underscore Kenpack’s dedication to responsible forestry management and environmental sustainability.
